This trivial patch to xournal is a workaround. The surrounding code (a
function called 'fix_xinput_coordinates') suggests that this bug has
existed (in xinput? gdk?) for some time already. It just manifests
itself slightly differently with these new packages, which makes
Xournal's workaround fail.
The main problem here is the fact that the nvidia driver doesn't support
the RandR 1.2 protocol, therefore neither the following command nor
monitors hotplug are expected to work:
xrandr --output DVI-0 --auto --left-of VGA-0 --auto

Public bug reported:
1) natty amd64
2) see summary
3) install correctly video driver
4)video driver not correctly installed
ProblemType: Package
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04
Package: fglrx 2:8.801-0ubuntu3
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-7.38-generic 2.6.38
Uname: Linux 2.6.38-7-generic x86_64
The GNOME versions didn't change in natty since we stay on GNOME 2.32
and both users having the issue have it on the same hardware seems to me
it's likely an issue on the xorg or driver side rather than in the GNOME
library
** Package changed: gnome-desktop (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu)
