Jonathan, look's like after fail with nouveau KWin write to kwinrc config
option OpenGLIsUnsafe=true.
After that I change driver from nouveau to proprieatry nVidia driver, but this
option is still present in config, resulting not allow to enable desktop
effects even with nVidia driver.

@Andy, Nicolas: sorry for the inconvenience, it seems that a security
update of the kernel caused this problem. This change removed the
compat_alloc_user_space function from asm/compat.h (which is what fglrx
relies on). The kernel team is working on the issue in Lucid (which also
affects Maverick).

newer r300g)
r300c is okay, just as in windows, so it should not be my card. If i am
the only one, maybe a bios AGP setting? But still, if the classic driver
is okay...
The corrupted texture problem is easy noticeable if i star
looks like a kernel problem of 2.6.32-25 64 bit.

I can't even install from a LiveCD. The xorg-edgers was because I was
trying to see if that would help the problem. I purged those packages
now.
