In the hope to collect some useful information, I installed the linux-
crashdump package. When the problem occurs, the system is now restarted
(instead of freezing). After rebooting, there is a ~30MB file called
linux-image-2.6.32-23-generic.0.crash in /var/crash. The apport tool

I tried to upgrade to 9.10 and i get devices errors, and after upgrade
to 10.4 i could not use the sistem at all, because the keyword and mouse

During live cd booting , I have seen the error message Crash detected and
reported the same through the Bug #607363
But I am able to work normally in the system with mouse.

I'm seeing the same symptoms - from the KDM menu, I choose KDE, enter my
password, click login. I see the KDE harddisk icon appear briefly (the
first icon in the bar that usually shows ~4 icons serially fade in),
then the screens go black for a second, and kick me back to the KDM
login prompt. I'

resolved when using evdev.

Please update your Maverick install first:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
Then remove/backup your xorg.conf file:
sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak
(you can revert with 'sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak /etc/X11/xorg.conf' if you
need to)
And then reboot without any boo
