How does a fix in Lucid make this bug "invalid" on karmic? I cannot

It is not invalid in karmic, it is invalid for netbook-launcher because
it was a driver bug, not a netbook-launcher bug.
I don't think the exact fix has been identified, nor whether it would be
easy to fix the bug in karmic, but given that the lucid release is in 2
months, I don't think it will be
As mentioned in my above comment, I have tried both drivers (in all five
xorg.conf combinations). Good luck, come back and tell me how it's going
in two or three reboots ;)

Affects both of my Lucid computers as well. The laptop runs the Intel
915GM while the desktop runs NVIDIA.
Also, both will not shut down. It seems to be related.
None of the Karmic versions are affected.
