I can understand that. However, on Karmic the nouveau drivers were installable and working; I used them in place of the -nv ones for months and they did not crash. Moreover, I noticed a net improvement of the quality of the on-screen 2D rendering or, alas, gradients for example did not have that ugly alone that the -nv drivers produce.
So I can understand the wontfix, however keep in mind that there has been a stable period in karmic in which the powerpc nouveau drivers worked and worked very well. -- [NV34M] Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in memset() using nouveau driver on powerpc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398283 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
