Matthias,
Since the kernel does modesetting these days, would you mind testing
this against the latest Lucid alpha? Also, in the event that you still
encounter this issue, could you test this against the latest vanilla kernel?
Thanks!

We are only backporting major security fixes to Karmic at this point, so I
doubt this would meet the definition set forth in the SRU policy. I am glad you
were able to verify that this is resolved in Lucid. I'll go ahead and mark this

NNNSVolunteer,
Have either of you tried to test this against Lucid? As you may be aware,
we deal with a lot of modesetting in the kernel these days so I am interested
in the results of your particular testing.
Scott,
I see that you are labeling this as a regression-potential for Lucid.

I think this should be fixed in udev.

xrandr is the tool that you are lookin for:
xrandr --output --gamma 1.0:1.0:1.0
output might be DVI-0 but you can check it with xrandr -q.
But I don't understand why 2nd monitor would mess the gamma settings
in first one. This would need some more investigation to find the
cause for problem.

Note that this problem was temporarily fixed earlier this month (see
comment #76). I suspect examining the driver and other software versions
installed at that point may lead to a solution to this bug.

Thank you. Forget about the batchbuffer dump for now, since they contain
no information on kernel 2.6.32. There is an experimental kernel patch
upstream that will record information again (which applies fine to
2.6.33-rc8 at least) [1]. If you're comfortable with patching and
