I had this bug on Jaunty too, with the same graphics chipset as
nicklondon28. It still happens on Karmic (same hardware, clean
install). I can run GE by using xorg.conf.failsafe, which loads the
"vesa" driver instead of the default "intel". It's slower, of course,
but otherwise perfect.

I just tried to install 10.04 Alpha 2 and I cannot install it because of
this bug. I have no propper control over my mouse, because with my
MacBook Pro 4,1 the DVD is spinning and causes vibrations that are
detected by the sensor and it repositioned it back to the center of the

When I try to boot with the driver I just created, the system hangs
after the mouse cursor first appears, in a manner similar to that

there are two problems that effects me.
The first probelm is, that the connector is a 7 pin output. It provides
Svideo as well as a composite signal!
With upgrading from 9.04 to 9.10 the signal at the compsite pins
disapear and never went back! Only the Svideo variant is remaining.

Good news - seems to be fixed on my PC after 3 sets of updates were installed
over a perfiod of few days (none required reboot, so I decided to reboot only
now).
Note that Nvidia drivers were not updated.
