I have now nvidia drivers installed from sevenmachines PPA (195.22-0ubuntu0).
After updating X packages to

After looking at recently updated packages at

Sorry, but there is NO WAY to do such operations when booting on a CD LIVE
engraved from the last .ISO file.
The display still returns on splash screen every 2 seconds and there is no
possibility to access a console with the keyboard.
I whish this issue will be settled within Kubuntu 10.04.

I can confirm they work OK.

The xorg.conf I'm using for both Ubuntu (Gnome) and Xubuntu has

Trouble is that even if you sacrifice some pixels to get it working, if
you maximise a window it tries to make the window 2048 wide, exceeds the
max texture size and screen size and compiz collapses in a heap.

Unfortunatley this didnt solve the problem for me, but created some new
errors, heres the tail end of the X log:

I have found the solution to this tiring problem. I am running the final
