It's too late to do this for the final release but if we get an accurate
list of card affected we could perhaps do it in an SRU. The real problem
is that, as we've seen with previous ATI blacklists, not every card with
the same pci id is affected. I don't know if that is the case for this
issue but

There is actually a "work around for this bug" if you select an image as
a background in "Apparance" "Arriere Plan" or in English "Appearance"
"Background" .. You select a random image as a backgorund and put the
transparency as 0 and apply and you should not see the white background
anymore...

After shutting down and restarting the mouse is not jumpy, people have
observed that 1/5 times mouse is jumpy, and the rest of the time it
seems to work as desired. But I think this is still a bug that needs to

Karmic with the latest upgrades from today. Hardware is a MacBook 3,1.
Backlight is also not working with KMS enabled. Using the "nomodeset"
option during boot at least gets xbacklight to work again. Although
closing the lid is not turning off the backlight. This used to work with
Jaunty.

First I can watch videos (and the mpeg2 file I used to get the freeze) using
textured Xv with no problem.
It is my first try with i965 xvmc and mplayer support for it so I cant compare
with anything.

I need to correct two things. First of all, I meant "Klearlooks."
Secondly, I attempted to use several other settings, and each one

system with all icons and panels is with "oxygen" selected.

I'm running Karmic, 9.10, on a Sony Vaio VGN-C260E laptop, using an
Intel driver (see lspci output below). My computer is completely
freezing under two circumstances:
1. I connect an external monitor after the laptop is already
On Karmic i386 (up to date as of 10/25/09) with a Foxconn Atom
barebones. After logging in to gnome, I have a lockup within 5 seconds
of a compiz effect, 3d effect (screensaver or other 3d app) appearing on
the screen. Removing compiz from the system and disabling 3d
screensavers avoids the lockup.
