peripherals), clean install of Oneiric (updated regularly). I have a
keyboard on the PS/2 socket, mouse and Wacom tablet on USB sockets at

I think that the screensavers were a red herring. In fact, my mouse was
plugged into my monitor and thus was being disconnected and reconnected
whenever I turned the monitor off and back on. I was only doing this
when I would leave for an extended period of time, hence the correlation
with locking

I believe I may have the same issue, in Oneiric. When the mouse stops
working, I can still use my Wacom tablet pen to move the cursor, but the
touchpad is non-responsive. Keyboard functions just fine.

Given that this started immediately after upgrading to 11.04, I'm
inclined to think it's a software issue. Further, it's not that the
mouse stops working, but rather, it stops working in a single X session.
As I wrote, using startx to start a second gives me a working mouse.
