AMDGPU Black Scr
Hi Christopher,
How can I assist further with this? A lot of the original attachments my
system uploaded via the bug panel have been deleted from this report.
Just so you know the only way you can get the system to boot to being
usable is via nomodeset which I believe won't load the AMDGPU driver
FFab, it will help immensely if you filed a new report with the Ubuntu
repository kernel (not mainline/upstream) via a terminal:
ubuntu-bug linux

J have the same problems.
Notebook HP Pavilion 17-g164ng, AMD A10-8780P APU, Kubuntu 16.04.1, UEFI,
UEFI/BIOS F.19.
Nomodeset - 800x600 -is no solution for working.
When starting life-system from USB in CSM mode, nomodeset, I get optimal
resolution for my screen - 1600x900.
But CSM-mode installa

Can confirm I am now on the latest BIOS, F19 as of writing. Still seeing
the same issue, OS boots into a black screen, again ubuntu boot sounds
still are played so the laptop is working normally bar the graphics.
I've just ran a full update as of today and rerun the apport info

Just to update I have tried the nomodeset parameter previously (sorry
hadn't put that in the description)
The OS does load and you get visuals but its using the software
rendering and will only allow 800x600 resolution and refuses to change
to anything other than that.
