Yes, it does. It does not crash right after installation, but when reebooting.
The system is still running after the crash, I can connect via ssh, but the GUI

I found the older version at http://ppa.launchpad.net/oem-solutions-
group/nvidia-driver-staging/ubuntu. It turned out that it's most likely
that the hardware is broken, so it was just a coincidence that the
hardware failed after the driver update. Sorry for the noise.

I have installed ccsm and added the specific window-classes to
"Gerneral" -> "Composite" -> "Undirect match" like: "& !(class=google-
chrome)"
I had a simular problem with Virtual-Box in Full-Screen Mode ...
therefor I have added "& class=VirtualBox" as well... now it
I have the same situation here with a Ubuntu 16.04 running on a Kaby-
Lake CPU. Fullscreen in Google-Chrome or in the editor "Atom" crashes
Unity. Cant minimize the fullscreen-window again, cant click anything.
Only possible way is rebooting.

I faced this issue on two different Latops (Acer and Sony) after installing the
new 14.04.2 enablement stack as described in the Ubuntu Wiki
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack
After reverting back to 14.04.1 stack I could again install the fgrlx driver.

I also seem to have this bug on Ubuntu 12.04 since the upgrade to HWE
Trusty and on Lubuntu 14.04. I also see this bug if my Bluetooth mouse
is configured. As soon as I remove my Bluetooth mouse from the
configuration left key works agains with other USB mouses and the
touchpad.

I'm having the same issue, using two monitors, one of which (B) is rotated and
placed at the left of the landscape-oriented main monitor (A).
