I faced this issue on two different Latops (Acer and Sony) after installing the new 14.04.2 enablement stack as described in the Ubuntu Wiki https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack After reverting back to 14.04.1 stack I could again install the fgrlx driver.
