FWIW, my issue
(https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54226#c191), was resolved
by uninstalling various components, re-installing and updating them. I
have a hunch (completely unproven) that it was a transparent bit-fail
issue from the SSD. By un-installing and re-installing, the files were

Xmir itself was resolved as bug 1417541.
The remaining issues, while severe, are general nouveau driver/kernel
issues.

I already had two crashes today, but no specific xorg file. One of the crashes
happened at 12:53:06 according to syslog. Only one file in /var/crash, namely
_usr_bin_akonadi_maildispatcher_agent.1000.crash is related to that crash and

are using the fglrx software you installed a few days ago.
Hence, if you want to use the open source drivers, you would need to
uninstall the fglrx software

Under Ubuntu-Mate 15.04 only my wallpaper, scroll-sliders, and right window
edges were garbled.

I have had this issue on my Lenovo Yoga with 15.10 . After trying
different beta kernels from Ubuntu and getting the same crashes, I've
installed the 4.2.5 mainline kernel and the problem went away. So I
guess the error must have been introduced in one of Canonical's patches.

This is now the 3 rd time to reinstall 15.10. Previously the 15.04 version has
been re-installed.
Under 15.04 the problem (bug) was restricted to the desktop background image in
that after a few days and new updates loaded the screen became corrupted with
