every stage of the suspend, resume and attempts to recover the display
on the panel.

I use "xset -dpms && xset s noblank && xset s off" and it seems to work,
but only in the current session, not when after a logout or a reboot.
Otherwise, this is still conflicting with the GUI for screensaver
settings/power management…
