I'm using nouveau from xorg-edgers ppa on 12.04 and I think I am having
this same bug just recently. My Unity 3D session will hang anywhere from
1 minute to a few hours after I boot. Sometimes the entire UI locks up,

I've set the key-binding Ctrl+Shift+Esc to unity--replace, since I have

Seems totally arbitrary to me, but at least for me it worked:
I read at AskUbuntu http://askubuntu.com/a/133537/71437 about this being
