Ok just tested drm-intel-next-queued on my wife's ux31 (I snuck it away
without her looking, I'll probably hear screams soon though).
eDP works ok: the kernel comes up, I can see boot messages, then X
starts and I see the desktop.
When I connect a mini-HDMI to my 25x16 monitor, it comes up at 19x
I was able to reduce count of patches to this range:

display errors were happening upon initial boot. did apt-get
update/upgrade and rebooted and it seemed to resolve the issue although
the error reporting was triggered after the upgrad

GPU temp with nvidia-smi tool and as soon as it gets around 110°C the GPU is
shutting down.
I made an extensive cleanup of my case and also set all the fans to max rpms (
got a fan controller on my case) now I can

I am also affected by this bug. It seems that any window with the
system scroll bars is affected. Other windows (e.g. Chrome, Adobe
Reader, OpenOffice) are not affected.

Same thing here on my netbook (Samsung N310). If I leave the computer
unused for an hour, it goes to suspend, but then doesn't resume, leaves
me with a black screen and a pointer. Restarting X with Alt Gr + Prt scr
+ K does make the computer react, but the black screen stays.

This actually seems to be a compiz issue.
I noticed that while compiling a complex GWT project, I'd encounter a
load average of 15 or so, and my system would freeze up with similar
symptoms as I originally described. Running htop the resource using
processes were all java, although I saw compiz in
Greg, can you add any update to this bug

(Gave it back to my employer for my old E6410.)
