I got the same bug on my system that I upgraded from Natty to Oneiric. The cause turned out to be simple: the /usr/lib/dri directory did not exist, and so update-alternatives could not create the /usr/lib/dri/fglrx_dri.so.dpkg-tmp symlink. Simply running "sudo mkdir /usr/lib/dri" fixed this proble
