Hi Daniel, for the crash we really gotta have a full backtrace, either
via apport automatically or by hand via gdb.
Some directions are available at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing
The crash (this one and the ones experienced previously) are due to
programming errors in how X handles out of
ame test setup and the only thing we changed
was the image, this problem occurs using the 20110207 image, and though
the symptom is similar, from glancing at the backtrace I get the
impression it's a different problem than the one described/fixed on bug

Hi pschonmann,
I have a suspicion this might be the same as bug #702090, which seems to
be an interaction with the vesafb.
Could you please update to latest natty, verify you can still reproduce
the freeze, and then after that test again with vesafb disabled? Do
this by using this kernel command
Would someone who can reproduce this bug please try booting with vesafb
disabled? You can do this by adding this to the kernel command line:
vesafb.anything=1
If that makes the freezes go away, then I think this bug is definitely a
dupe of bug #702090 (but the logs on this one are newer).
**
llstarks, thanks for interfacing with upstream directly. Since it's
pinpointed to the kernel drm and since we've got a patch now, the kernel
team can take it from here.

I have done this on a separate partition but now am trying to work with
missing buttons on the dashand cannot add them. The most important are
places, application, and system. Also the firebox button disappeared! Any
help would be great. I am currently using 10.10 to work on.
