That's curious - EQ overflow errors often indicate that the GPU has
locked up and X is the first to notice. Usually the intel kernel module
will catch those, though. That probably had some interesting dmesg and
intel_gpu_dump output.
Did apport not trigger a crash report for the initial crash?
My problem turned out to be that I had disabled console frame buffer
using echo 0 > /sys/class/vtconsole/vtcon1/bind previously, which of
course in turn caused problems for my intel KMS module.

Frank, to answer your question #53, the apport files you provided were
against karmic, but it is required that when reporting a bug against
lucid that the apport files must be from lucid as well. I use an
automated script to check these things, and it is what wrote the
comment.

constant flickering (50% of the time, not always) when I resume from
hibernate, but very rarely from sleep (suspend to RAM). Did not have in
Jaunty. I suspect a regression in the newer version of xserver-xorg-

I have this issue with both remote desktop server and client running
Ubuntu 10.4, server uses ATI/AMD FGLRX graphics driver; either disabling
desktop-effects or setting noxdamage to true in gconf-editor are
verified workarounds, but it would be great to have a fix.

I'm in this same boat, running 10.04, amd64, and am seeing close-to-
random system freezes, typically when the system is under heavy IO load.
I'm getting nothing in any logs about it, as it seems the freeze is
taking the disk IO system with it. I've tried everything suggested with
no change yet.

The newest Ubuntu kernels (2.6.35-7) are based on -rc4 and therefore
include the eDP patch. Could you verify that the display problem is gone
with this kernel? If this kernel introduces the keyboard and trackpad
problem, please file a new bug report for that.

Good to hear that this is now working with the new kernel. I'm not sure
which of the patches listed in the changelog could have fixed it.
PGTBL_ER being anything but zero means that the graphics hardware has
detected a page table error, i.e. some kind of corruption in the table
that maps GPU memor

As noted on the upstream bug this patch does not quite completely
resolve this. I've only managed to reproduce this once, but it seems
that there's probably an off-by-one error in the bounds checking.
I'm tracking this down now.
