happens when you are trying to return to the first user that logged in,
and it doesn't matter which user it is.
I've set identical permissions to two users, and have done the

As I said before its not just vmmouse if I use virt-viewer to connect to

We've had other reports of GeForce 6100 cards failing to boot with the
same problem. Given that disabling acceleration works, I think we
should quirk off acceleration by default on these cards, too. Then at

The log file just stops half way through the driver initialization.
There's no backtrace. There are two possibilities:
1. the Xserver is still spinning at 100% CPU load in the background
2. the system crashed hard and didn't have a chance to write the complete log
file to the disk

Hello Felix,
I'm enclosing the correct version of the log files, along with the
xorg.conf file generated by aticonfig. There is a slight change of
behaviour since updating gdm; now rather than stalling on a blank
screen, X now stalls on the ubuntu 10.04 splash (screen white lettering
on top of ora
Attached tar contains the logs with 'nomodeset', up to a blank screen
with X running (though not visible).

During installation, bootup (plymouth) and while inside X, screen
remains blank. Switching VTs yields no results (screen remains blank).
This was done with today's daily desktop image, amd64: 10.04 (20100412).

the screen flickers, i think mostly at bottom of screen. this did not start
until this weekend, I think. I am running 10.04 beta something, and update
whenever there is an update available. I am on a dell 1545 n-series laptop.
