fglrx driver, gentoo's is with mesa, this affects kwin when resuming
from suspension to memory, that one affects plasma, this is worked
around by changing to Xrender compositing, that one is fixed by
resetting the plasma conf.
I can confirm this issue with a HD 4650 card on a VAIO VGN-FW480j, using
kde 4.2.98 (kde 4.3 RC 3).

Yeah, that'show I logged in when I got this error from a "root shell
with networking".
But when I boot normally, there is no network, so SSH doesn't work. I
can't even ping the machine. The desktop "appears" normally, but with
the "Failed to load HAL" (I think, not sure of the phrasing) error

1.6.2.901 has been uploaded already, and will build as soon as audit has
been moved to main (libaudit-dev is a build-dep of xorg-server).

@mcnaz, given your results differ from everyone else's, you might have
some unrelated bug, although you've not provided enough info to guess
one way or another.
Anyway, given that three people who have been following this bug for a
while have confirmed they are no longer seeing it, and it's been m
lspci. Note this was taken on same pc using Intrepid which will boot.
I don't know how to get a batchbuffer dump since ssh barely runs then
stops after a couple commands.
