I want to report a new problem which only arose after the 09.04 upgrade.
There is now an annoying rumbling low level noise on the sound whenever

I've upgraded the test version of Jaunty on my Thinkpad X31 to the
final release now. It's running quite well and bootup is substantially
faster.
The only snag is Compiz. My ATI Rage Mobility chipset really is not up
to running a composited desktop - it's unusably slow. But even

In Hardy and Intrepid, this was done with System menu, Preferences,
Appearance, Visual Effects, None.
I'd bet it's the same in Jaunty.
