I just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I am an experienced
Linux user, living in South Manchester. My interest is in the promotion
of free software to the general public. I am an experienced Ubuntu user,

I run Ubuntu on a virtual machine and don't really have a lot of
experience with it to be honest.
I also live in south Manchester - well more Cheshire really - so it'd
be helpful for me to have one of those groups ;-)

I'm loving Ubuntu, but work pressure being what it is, I'm just not getting

No idea about Sonys but my Ubuntu on Compaq seems to do the whole
screen thing just the same as Windows... use the Fn-F4 or whatever...
Never had a problem with it in the past... perhaps it's broken in the
latest version? Must admit I haven't tried it for a few months...

Hi,
I have been using the adaptor for a while before and if I remember
correctly without issue.
But now, and I am not sure what has changed it doesn't work as it used to.
I can connect to the wireless network I have. Then if I set ping going
before it connects and leave it while it connects I get
