Hi folks,
In every version of Ubuntu that I've used, I've come across a slightly
irritating problem with the restricted nvidia drivers.
When I update using the restricted manager the nvidia driver that it
installs defaults to the external monitor rather than the laptop's
main screen. This means t

Personally, as it seems to be more a config problem than a driver one, I'd
put it onto LaunchPad in any case. If for no other reason than to show the
hack you did to get round it.

Hi guys,
Not really asking for help as such, just flagging up something that's
bugging me. I dual-boot windows and Gutsy on my laptop, as I'm sure
many others do. Now, if I use Windows for whatever reason, and turn
off the wireless to save power, and then go back to Ubuntu, the
wireless just doesn

Hi,
I'm fairly new to Linux in general, and tried out a few distros -

Thanks folks, I am much obliged to you for helping an old fool out. I
had downloaded the necessary without any problem, what I had totally
forgotten was that I had to boot from the disc I had made. There is one
born every day.
Ubuntu 7.10 looks great I am very impressed.

Hey all, I wondered if anybody knows of any UK based mirrors of the 'ports'
ubuntu folder.
I am trying to download Gutsy for my PPC and I am getting extremely slow
download speeds, and I think the server is US based. Surly there is somebody
in the UK mirroring this vital part of the Ubuntu distro?
