Are you trying to start it on battery or power lead ? Disconnect and reconnect the battery a few times. Try it power lead only. When it's turned off sniff the power socket. Can you smell burning ? If yes then I think it's young James' department. I had one that reported a damaged or discharged ba

Hi. My 'Linux Certified' (Compal JHL-90) just died on me. First the display froze, then when I force-restarted it, it wouldn't go past the first Intel splash screen (with no boot options strip at the bottom), and now it just generates no display at all, though the screen is backlit normally. Th
