I've got a new(ish) Ubuntu 14.04 LTS install that I'm preparing to replace an
older 12.04 LTS one. When I log in on the 12.04 install I get a notification in
red at the bottom right of my Byobu session that notifies me of updates. On the
14.04 one I only ever get this after I've manually done an `a
