Hi

Acer Aspire Revo R3700 Desktop
with 11.04

i have googled and its come up with mixed reviews some saying it

from that its nothing special.
Unless you can get it for <£200 I would save your money for a proper machine.

Hi All
I am thinking of 'upgrading' from my trusty 7" EEEPC (I can get round
the 7" screen but the 4GB SSD and 512MB RAM are too limiting).

my Acer and it seems to have gone completely without hitch. I got online
immediately and networked with my other machines with a single mouse click.

Acer.
I'll have a go over the weekend and if I encounter ant insurmountable (for me)
problems you'll probably hear about them here!

Its not daunting at all follow the eeepc version of Ubuntu as I did and you
will have a working version with all your stuff working. The route you
should follow is on the Acer Aspire forum. Only problem I had was FF3
freezing but once again follow the instructions on the forum to remedy that

Many people make the mistake to install the stock Ubuntu on the EEE.
The specialised version that Yishay mentions below is what people
should be installing instead.
Advanced users would stick to the stock Ubuntu on the EEE.

I have an eeePC running http://www.ubuntu-eee.com/
I imagine that should work for the Aspire as well.
I would do the standard procedure:
- burn a USB stick image
- boot live from USB

Yesterday I splashed out on a new toy - the Acer Aspire One netbook, the Linpus
Lite version with 1GB ram, and a 120GB Hard Drive. It's a very nice little
machine and ideal for a first time user, but the OS is rather limited.
I've checked the Howto install Ubuntu on it at
