Hi folks,
I've just had a hard drive failure and have had to do a completely
fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10. I had it running beforehand and I had
no problems with the touchpad, but because I'd upgraded from previous
releases, I think I probably had some old settings.
I've got an Acer Aspire 5920G

Before I discovered Ubuntu, I had a few attempts at installing Linux.
One was Mandrake (version 7, I think), and I had a couple of attempts

Hi folks,
I've been running 10.04 for a while now, and everything was working
fine until the last round of updates. Now I've completely lost my
wireless connection. The network manager menu has gone from the
top-right hand corner of the screen and I appear to have lost the
ability to do anything t

Hi folks,
As it turned out, the partition I had my previous installation in wasn't
formatted, so grub was finding stuff that I thought had gone. I formatted
it, ran grub-update and it only picked up what I needed.

Windows Vista at the moment, which is my main reason for finally w
