key and reading the boot options
On the ubuntu cd's I think there is a menu option for adding extra parameters
Check the ubuntu wiki for common boot params, I think the usual ones are
something along the lines of acp

Would it not be better to focus on why the Ubuntu CD didn't boot?
Where does it hang? Or does it boot and not have a desktop or what?

Hi,
I was looking ar a PC for a neighbour and tried to boot from a live CD to
backup some data for them. The Ubuntu and Xubuntu live CDs wont boot, but a
Knoppix DVD will boot and run just fine. How can I tell what if any boot
options the knoppix system booted with?
