I tried installing with gdebi and it refused to install due to unmet dependencies. But it did tell me what I needed to install, which I installed with synaptic, and then gdebi let me install VirtualBox. Although I do not know why it needed an extra file, as I had 2.2.4 installed previously whic

My brother is venturing into the land of Ubuntu and has installed (so he tells me) 8.10. He is happy as can be with everything he has tried so far with the exception Of OpenOffice. He reports that when he runs the application he is presented with a screen with no bars at all including the menu bar.
