Those are backup files. To get to them in Nautilus, browse to the folder
they're in (for example /home/Dianne/Documents/ ) and press Ctrl + H. This
shows hidden files and folders. From there, you can just delete the

I'm finding more and more files that have duplicates - presumably backup
files, as they have a tilde in the file name. For example, index.html
and index.htm~

I have started to notice that the windows Firefox version 3.0.7 crashes
every now and then. The same can be said for the apple version as well, On
Ubuntu 8.10 i don't get that and i notice last night that it loaded pictures
faster than both the apple and windows cussons.
