I don't see how it is possible to justify this kind of change in a LTS
release. This proposal ignores the whole point of what a LTS release is:
version stability is the default. The above suggestion doesn't even
belong in trusty-backports, never mind trusty-proposed or trusty-
updates.

Maybe I'm missing something but why doesn't Canonical fix this. On one
hand they advertise as being "Open-Stack Friendly" and even "the best
flavor to use with OpenStack" but yet they refuse to play nice with a
script that was written by OpenStack to automate installation, opting
instead for "it's

I discovered yesterday that my system still had an sshd process spawned
at boot, despite my having turned off the ssh service with rcconf quite
a while ago. Moreover, killing this process with "/etc/init.d/ssh stop"
resulted in an immediate respawn (with no complaints from the
would since it seems to own those files. Perhaps the
install routine should create those?
