I have serious reboot problem since a long time.
I discovered that if i "service autofs stop" before reboot, there's no problem
with reboot.
Here my autofs confs :

ubuntu-minimal depends on upstart and ifupdown, so supposedly you
removed that. This is really not a supported configuration.
As for upstart: Debian has a new essential package "init" which depends
on systemd-sysv | upstart | sysvinit. We could decide to adopt that.

On my main server (3.13.0-32-generic with precise userspace) I installed
a trusty container with ext3 (LVM) backing store. There I installed uvt
and created 4 VMs, 2 precise amd64 and 2 precise i386. I several times

With scott's help, I spun this about 2000x over the weekend and did not
hit the issue. I would call it verified from my perspective.
