Disculpen por la mala explicacion en el comment #21.
Bueno, en mi configuraciĆ³n de samba el grupo lpadmin es administrador de
impresoras, mi usuario pertenece al grupo lpadmin, por eso funciono para
mi sin ser usuario root (opcional agregar "printer admin = @lpadmin" en
smb.conf sin l
I noticed that this is fixed in Ubuntu 12.04, /etc/resolv.conf is now a
symlink to /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf and /run is mounted as tmpfs so
it now works if /etc is mounted as readonly.
Maybe this bug can be closed now?

#21 worked for me too, but really needs a better explanation.
rpcclient needs to be run as superuser - it did not work for me until I
changed user to root (su root)
i did not try it, but I think "sudo rpcclient" should work as well if
you have enabled root directly.

Looks like we found it!
Just to update you, I have notified Astrill of this issue via their
helpdesk. I am awaiting a response. This certainly needs fixing in their
code before it goes on general release.

Given James' and Daviey's comments above, I think we should just let this be.
Its more likely that sensitive information would live in the kickstart files
(url=) which are not protected at all either.
Is there some appropriate way to document this and close it as such?

We are using the default for networking, ie, Network Manager.
Booting with --verbose noquiet results in the single 2 lines:
Loading configuration from /etc/init.conf
Loading configuration fomt /etc/init
being printed.
The system hangs right there.

This is actually just a timing issue.
Tomcat7 uses a secure random number generator to seed session ID's
(unlike tomcat6) which takes some time on virtual instances to
initialize (> 30 seconds).
I've increased the pre-test sleep time to 60 seconds to accomodate -
nothing to fix in the package so

This is already a big improvement. It allows standalone dnsmasq to run
