Hey there everyone! I just wanted to send out a quick message to the
authors of Ubuntu 13.10 to check to see how everyone was doing. It looks
like our next major manual milestone is coming up mid-September just before
the final feature freeze. We still have more than a month to go, but we

Hey Ricky, thank your willingness to participate! Feel free to take on any

Hey David...first, thanks for getting started on the editing so early (and
thanks to Thomas for informing you he was done). THIS is the EXACT culture
we wish to promote between authors and editors!
To your question, I think the inclusion of common shortcut key sequences
are perfectly permissible..

Sorry for asking this (again, if already asked)...did Johnathan's script
get posted anywhere? In LaunchPad? On a wiki? If the modifications made by
Jonathan make the installation of TexLive easier and more reliable, I want
to be sure the script is readily available to current and future authors
and
y though. In all cases it worked perfectly for me.

Greetings, everyone.
Here's the link to the Doodle for voting on the date/time of our next
author's/editor's meeting.

The date options are August 24 and August 31. It should be noted that
August 31 is the start of a 3-day weekend holiday in the US called La
How are we wanting/needing to use the "status" tag in the sections of the
manual? Is there a quick cheat-sheet available? I see this as a very useful
tool during the development process, and I'd like to know how to use this
tag so that the proper information can be communicated. I think Kevin

I'm leaning more toward *IN* the Launcher. The Launcher is ON the desktop
(permanent); we interact with the tiles IN it (transient). But then, if you
want to open the clock app in the title bar, you click ON it, not IN it!
Oy vey!
Grammatically, it would probably be OK either way..as long as we'r
I, too, agree the manual is written for the "newer" user. We target the
"new" users as a majority while recognizing we attract users who may have
played around with the previous version(s) and really want to dig into the
current version.
Where applicable, I completely support omitting the rev numb
It is my opinion that both authors and editors should be looking out for
this occurrence. Authors are really the first line of defense--as they
determine if inclusion of a "13.10" reference is applicable in the section
they are authoring, and if they choose to leave a reference to "Ubuntu
13.10" in
cks "on" an app in the Launcher.
