Patrick, This is true. Without the CPU support, you won't be able to run x64 systems virtually. However, as of late, there is very little difference between the versions, and unless you are giving your VM more than 4GB of ram, you likely won't need the support. Ill add the note to the GoogleDoc,

I'm not sure if this "needs" to be added to the guide (which is extremely helpful, by the way), but if your physical computer doesn't support the virtualization technologies (AMD-V or VT), then you won't be able to install a 64-bit OS--regardless of whether you're physical machine has a 64-bit os o
