i definitely would have done that if it was my home networkunfortunately
it is my college wireless network that i'm unable to access...
so any other suggestions :)

10.04 is LTS. there is no NON LTS version. unless you meant 9.04

the password is also correct.
i've two ubuntu(one 10.04 & 10.04 lts) in my laptop. i can access the same
network from the LTS version but not in the other.

See that your IP-address is auto. If you see the Broadcast SSID- ( name of
wireless) after giving the Pre-Shared Key it should be work..see your IP.
