I see this problem in a fully updated gutsy. Keyboard repeat works in
gdm, then stops working in gnome. When I enable key repeat in gnome-
settings-manager, I get every key repeated twice.

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk
I was using fglrx when an upgrade broke x. I rebooted into recovery mode
and reset the xorg config, then I rebooted and tried to change to
radeonhd, which I had just installed. Displayconfig-gtk came up blank. I
switched drivers manually
