hi,
I have noticed different power consumptions on different X200s laptops!!
My original X200s, NS45HMD, uses approx 1.5W less than my temporary
replacement machine, which is a X200s, Type 7470-A98.
I am attaching my output for
uname -a
powertop -d
lspci -vvv
The output is based on the origina
Stellarium worked OK for me with ubuntu 7.10, now I have upgraded to
8.04 I get an updated version of the same error:
---
[ This is Stellarium 0.9.1 - http://www.stellarium.org ]
[ Copyright (C) 2000-2008 Fabien Chereau et al ]
Having never heard of GART or GART memory the suggestion in the error message
did not mean a lot to me, however with a little research I found an option in
the file:
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
Within the "Device" section of the file I added the line:
Option "GARTSize" "64"
Re-booted and Stellar
I can report results for X200s, model number NS45HMD
I use original ubuntu 9.04 with the official updates.
I append the results for
uname -a
powertop -d
lspci -vvv

I did the on-line upgrade from Feisty to a Gutsy beta on an IBM T30
Laptop that I only use for web browsing. It displayed this problem
straight away, very high CPU utilisation.
The resource tab of the System Monitor program charts CPU utilisation
and made it obvious that CPU was being wasted somew
I wrote earlier that I suffered this bug when updating an IBM T30 laptop
from Feisty to Gutsy. What I omitted to say was that this laptop had
undergone a number of online updates prior to this one. I do not
remember which version I started with but it has probably only had on-
line updates since 6.
I have just upgraded my AMD 64 box from Feisty to Gutsy and I now get
poor quality sound when playing ogg and mp3 using either Rythmbox,
Amarok or Totem Movie Player.
In Rythmbox I tried:
Edit ->Preferences -> Playback -> Player Backend
Check: Use Crossfading backend
Crossfade Duration =2.1 secon
So to re-cap again. I believe the situation is:
If you do the upgrade via to Gutsy the GUI tool System -> Administration
-> Update Manager all is well.
If you do the upgrade using apt-get this will not remove evms for you
and you are likely to be in trouble, You have to remove evms yourself.

updates as and when they appear.
I had the desktop effects enabled and working nicely but today, the
desktop effects disabled themselves and I got the problem with Xgl using
100% CPU whilst using Firefox, particularly when scroll
