I get the same error on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with Brasero 2.30.2. The system
was installed just a few days ago from scratch.
I do have gstreamer installed. This was the solution suggested in
Question #96269. It did not help.

Rhythmbox 0.12.8 also fails to burn audio CDs from playlists - guess it
uses Brasero so this is expected.
I am unable to enable the brasero plugins just like James Schriver 7
months ago. I wonder if there is a work aound?
Just in case this matters, I also have AMD64 architecture:

There is nothing wrong with burning music CDs on both systems using
other software. Just the packages provided in the default Ubuntu

Just today I installed cdrdao from default Ubuntu repos to finally get
Braseo to work, but I find this message in Brasero under Extras >
Plugins: "The version of cdrdao is too old."

This bug still exists in 10.04 LTS. The "(invalid encoding)" is just a
superfluous annoying warning, which makes renaming files more difficult
and cumbersome in Ubuntu (than e.g. on MS Windows). The "�" symbol is
clear and visible enough to be sufficient as indication of an invalid
encoding.

I was able to resize windows by dragging the edges over 2 monitors using
9.04 with Nvidia drivers. After upgrading via 9.10 to 10.04 this is not
possible anymore. I lost over an hour to find out about the issue.
The workarounds ALT-F8 and ALT-middle button do work - but I find it rather
inconveni
Several upgrades later with Thunderbird 3.0.10 and Ubuntu 10.04.1 I do
not experience this error any more.

I experience a crash of Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 when pasting text (trough middle
button or context menu) using Ubuntu 9.04.
I do not know if it is related or not.
I also tried it in safe-mode, but I do get the same effect:
