Under 8.10 suspend worked pretty much flawlessly. Installed Karmic as
9.04 my sound card would not work for some reason. may end up going back
to 8.10 as My vid card is not supported anymore by ATI after that

X200 mobile chipset. I recently hosed my system and needed to reinstall.
I installed the proprietary drivers from the restricted drivers manager
but I have NOT enabled desktop effects again NOW the problem is NON-

I have seen this error on three different systems. I have a corei-7
desktop with Nvidia Graphics and the closed source driver, My System76
Starling Netbook and another friends laptop have had this problem. The
invisible window also seems to be in different places from time to time.
