It happened again for me with the 2.6.24-18 update. This time i figured
out what happened for me. The linux-restricted-
modules-2.6.24-18-generic package was not installed since the linux-
restricted-modules (meta)package was not installed on my machine. Sorry
about that, but i can't understand
I guess this bug report can be closed then?

Tested some more and manually installing linux-restricted-
modules-2.6.24-17-generic solved the problem for me. Quite obvious when
you think about it ;)
Newbie question: Shouldn't it have been installed automagically along
with the kernel update?
