I read that the problem concerns installing from Kubuntu alternate cd amd64 (no
matter if it's feisty or gutsy).
Some directories in /usr/share/fonts are created with timestamp in the future,
because of the timezone shift, eg. in Poland timestamp is 2h in the future
(because of UTC +2 timezone).
Swap partition has to be at least 100mb larger than amount of RAM.
If so and hibernate still doesn't work, try the following:
(replace your swap partition dev_name for hdXX, for example hda8 - check
with "cat /etc/mtab")
sudo mkswap -L UBUNTU_SWAP /dev/hdXX
sudo vol_id /dev/hdXX
or
sudo blkid
I made a mistake. The bug in fact has different symptoms. I've posted
another bug report concerning that gimp issue.

I apologise for my flawed English in advance.

I have Kubuntu Hardy and Nvidia card (nvidia-glx-new)
Compiz crashes not only when I enable/disable GUI Efects, but any change in
Style properties/settings and pressing Apply make compiz crash also.
Every change in general settings in compizconfig-settings-manager also crashes

I really don't know why workaround #1 works, I have to repeat those
steps several times (reload kernel module usb_storage, connect camera,
disconnect, reload module, and so on). It finally works for me... but I
honestly hate to fight like this with my computer.

Hello,
Yes it is a KDE problem. KDE4 in openSUSE 11.2 (KDE 4.3.1) has the same bug.
I will report it to bugs.kde.org, but my question is:
Will the fix be available for Kubuntu 10.04 which has KDE 4.4.2 even if the KDE

The cause of the problem is Virtualbox and its additions for Linux.
Sorry for this confusion.
