database of applications known to crash, containing the binary name, the
two (or three) top levels of the stack backtrace and the launchpad bug

I narrowed it down a bit more. Without Metacity running I cannot start
the nautilus browser from any non-gnome application (Sawfish
keybindings/Xterm). It starts from Gnome Panel or gnome-terminal without
any problems.

governors and by fixing the errors in the DSDT (not sure how much this

I confirm this bug too (Ubuntu 8.10). Surprisingly this bug does not appear
when switching to another user in the gnome desktop (assuming you must have
multiple users created). When switched to the new user THIS user does not have
the dbus error messages

After uninstalling Firestarter, UFW will autoload/start on boot, so
there must be some kind of conflict between UFW and Firestarter. I don't
see why, since Firestarter only starts manually, but it fixed the

Just built a 4GB USB key using liveCD on ubuntu 8.10 iso image, booted

Additional information: The PCI SCSI controllers are only used for A3
size flatbed scanners with SCSI interfaces, Microtek ScanMaker 6400XL
and Epson GT-1+. I do not own any other SCSI devices. The
referenced failure to boot a live CD occurs consistently regardless of
whether or not the scann
As the original reporter, I can confirm that it now works here (tested
with the example link that I supplied above).
