This bug report helped me a lot, thank you. In Dapper there was indeed a dependence of lyx-qt on latex-xft-fonts. In Edgy, however, latex-xft- fonts is only in Recommended and thus not installed by default. But for a proper use of LyX I would certainly say this IS a dependence. -- Math symbols
