orange/brown and makes a brighter coloured ring that shrinks toward the
center of the screen. It actually looks like melting plastic. Of
course it is not, it is just LCD light.

I was using Lucid, but after installing some updates on Feb 2 I could
not boot into my computer.

I don't think they need to fix anything, they just need to make sure
problems they solved before are included in new releases. The Gbook I
have had Ubuntu 8.04 preinstalled and sound worked properly. At some
point Canonical must have been working with Everex or VIA on this
driver.
