Steve, the problem is, it only occurs sometimes after a startup - hibernate - resume - [ hibernate - resume]* - shutdown cycle, but has never occurred after a startup - shutdown to me. I couldn't identify a pattern which would reliably trigger the behavior of not shutting down after hibernation.

I can confirm that this chipset worked at least on Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04. Not working since 10.10 for ordinary SD cards of any kind and producer. Read in a forum it is a timing problem of a read rate at an internal port or register. Won't be fixed for 10.10. Still a shame to break running hardware

I have been affected by this bug too, but you guys realy have to consider faulty routers. Bring your laptop to a different AP and try if this is the reason. Lot's of routers are equipped with linux firmeware these days and as a laptop driver may be affected, as much a router may be the reason too.

What does "nominated for Maverick" mean? That this is bug is confirmed to be present in Maverick too? If not, has anybody already tried if it works for Maverick? As I'm pretty sure it's a kernel regression I am not too confident that this bug will ever be fixed for Lucid, albeit it is LTS. --
