I have three different PCs, two with Jaunty and one with Mint Gloria.
The first shuts down with no beeps, the second (a Compaq DeskPro) has a
single beep and the third (a Dell Optiplex) several beeps. I do not
recall the beeps when I was using Hardy. No beeping when I log off
first before shutting
This was my first ever bug report on Launchpad. I did not intentionally
convert it to a question. If this was something that I did
unintentionally then please accept my apologies. I would like to
understand how I did it to prevent it happening again.

Gloria live CDs will not boot on the E700. I have used the same live CDs

Given that other people have reported similar problems with Evince I
suspect there is a problem but close it if you want to. If I can help
identify or solve the problem with Evince then I am happy to follow
instructions but it is not a priority for me.

there is "quick and dirty" workaround - open your "old" signons3.txt in
the Firefox profile folder with encoding latin-1 (ISO-8859-1) and save
it back with encoding UTF-8 (of course make a backup before this). This
should fix it for Firefox 3.0.2.

The thing that I don't like here is that there has been no info on why
it was decided to do this even though the ubuntu team knew that this
would decrease performance drastically. All we got was an excuse and
that it wouldn't be done soon. well, it doesn't look like it will be

hi,
another comfirmation for edgy. It seems quite random. Sometimes it fails
several times consecutively.
It really has to do something with kdesu since launching from Konsole (either
with "adept" or "sudo adept" never fails)

My computer hasn't updated yet to 10.04, and am so busy right now trying to get

I had the same problem with Kubuntu 10.04 (release).
My laptop could not wake up from suspend to RAM (which was the default action
on close lid). I had to restart it from the button.
In the file /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state i found:

After a clean install of release Kubuntu 10.04 i can confirm the non-mysql
errors as described in #5 still appear on first start of Kmail.
However, i have disabled Nepomuk. Could it be this what's causing the Akonadi

I have this problem too, it appears when i attach my camera to the
laptop. Attaching any of the other USB mass storage devices i have does
not cause problem. However once triggered the bug prevents any other USB

Para mas información, te diré q es un servidor q tiene instalado un
Openfire con una BBDD MySQL y creo q por ahí viene el problema.

Thanks Timo. The pdf you posted displays correctly for me on Karmic with
Adobe Acrobat. I will try Okular with my problem pdf files and report
back.
PS I was unable to post my problem pdf files that were a problem for me
as they contained personal data. Evince and XPDF still have exactly the
same
