I have installed the new intel driver from here:

and the tearing bug is still there, by the way I have found a workaround to get
a decent quality in movie playing, you just have to install driconf and enable
the vsync option “always

using a different user fixes the problem!
now I have managed to let it work with the old user deleting the folder
/home/user/.gconf/panel
(then logoff and login)
I want to try for a day or two but I think that will work now.

xorg.conf has two different Monitor, Device and Screen sections, the first is
